A Northeast Ohio native, Phil Robinson graduated from Gilmour Academy before moving to Washington, D.C. to attend The George Washington University. On his first day at GW, Phil met his future wife, Elizabeth.
Phil graduated from GW with a finance degree and chose to pursue his passion for public service by first working for U. S. Senator Dianne Feinstein.
As a congressional legislative aide, his primary responsibilities included working on federal legislation, overseeing a portfolio that included labor and veteran affairs and helping constituents navigate the various levels of government.
As a public affairs specialist with Powell Tate | Weber Shandwick, a global public relations and communications firm, Phil worked with clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to nonprofits and federal and state agencies.
Phil always knew he wanted to return to Northeast Ohio and give back to his hometown. So, he and Elizabeth bought a home in University Heights, and moved home. Phil took a position with Marcus Thomas, LLC before being named a Fellow for the Cleveland Executive Fellowship’s 2010 class.
During his time with the Fellowship, Phil has developed business-growth plans, co-authored a study on improving local neighborhoods and Cleveland's process for awarding city contracts, and developed a system to track the progress and success of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District’s strategic plan.
He currently serves on the board of directors for the Centers for Dialysis Care (CDC), the Cleveland Minority Organ Tissue Transplant Education Program (MOTTEP), and FutureHeights. He is also a member of The Cleveland Professional 20/30 Club. He also serves on the University Heights Financial Advisory and Memorial Day Parade committees. Phil received Inside Business Magazine’s 25 Under 35 Movers and Shakers award in 2010.
Phil’s experiences in the public, private and nonprofit sectors enable him to better understand the individual needs of business, government, and the community at large. He looks forward to using these skills to represent the residents of Beachwood, Euclid, Lyndhurst, Richmond Heights, South Euclid, and University Heights.
