ROBINSON ENDORSED BY KEY DEMOCRATIC LEADERS Campaign for University Heights City Council Gains Momentum in Final Days
UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio (September 29, 2009) — Phil Robinson, a candidate for University Heights City Council, has received the endorsement of several local democratic leaders, including the University Heights Democratic Club, Cuyahoga County Commissioner Peter Lawson Jones, State Representative Barbara Boyd and the Cleveland Stonewall Democrats.
“I am honored and humbled by the endorsements that I have received in running for University Heights City Council,” said Robinson. “Endorsements of these committed longtime public servants and active citizens validate the issues that we have been discussing with residents since the beginning of this campaign.”
Robinson is running on a platform of attracting creative economic development, maintaining city services, creating a “good neighbor” growth partnership with John Carroll University, raising the city’s profile in the region, and listening to residents. Prior to moving back to Northeast Ohio, Robinson served as a legislative aide for U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.).
Robinson believes his ability to work with a wide spectrum of leaders will prove critical as the city government works to move University Heights forward in challenging economic times. “Both Commissioner Lawson Jones and Representative Boyd have a long history of public service in the Cleveland area,” explained Robinson. “The Stonewall Democrats and the University Heights Democratic Club are active and committed members of this community and exemplify the level of engagement I hope to engender among all residents of University Heights.”
