University Heights resident, Phil Robinson, announces candidacy for Cuyahoga County Council seat in District 11 Economic development and government efficiency are cornerstones of campaign
UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio (May 5, 2010) — Phil Robinson, a 2010 Cleveland Executive Fellow, is running for the District 11 Cuyahoga County Council seat. District 11 includes Beachwood, Euclid, Lyndhurst, Richmond Heights, South Euclid, and University Heights.
“For our region to continue growing, we need a government that can operate in the 21st century,” says Robinson, a Democrat. “My experience in both the public, private, and non-profit sectors gives me a unique perspective on how to move Cuyahoga County forward.”
Robinson’s three-prong platform includes:
- Government that Works - Creating a transparent, accountable, cost-effective county government that is available to its residents when needed
-
Energizing Cuyahoga County - Making Cuyahoga County an even better place to live and work through new land-use policies and economic and workforce development
-
Brain Gain - Growing the county's population through a marketing plan to attract new residents and providing college scholarships for students who graduate from public high schools within the county
Robinson currently serves as a 2010 Cleveland Executive Fellow, where he has developed business growth plans and co-authored a study on improving local neighborhoods. Robinson has worked for U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) and later, for two Fortune 500 global communications firms. Robinson graduated from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. with a degree in finance. He lives in University Heights with his wife, Elizabeth.
